Field Service Engineer

Ideally candidates should live no more than one hour from Ravenwood Head Office in Bury St Edmunds.
Job Summary
Responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance and servicing of the Ravenwood Packaging portfolio. Customer focused at all times, the successful candidate must be prepared to work independently and as part of a team,interacting with colleagues, management at all levels, clients and other trades in a professional and tactful manner, while presenting a positive image of the Company.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Installation of machinery to a high standard, completing full reports and follow-on works as required, managing this from point of sale to completion of invoice.
- Training onsite and at HQ, including development of training information and plans to the same standards.
- Completion of quotations and reports as required.
- Direct point of contact with key customers, managing machines onsite including staff performance and downtime training requirements.
- Technical phone support to customers, label suppliers and distributors.
- Planning works directly with customers and distributors while reporting back to the diary system.
- Participation in the weekend call-out rota to attend customer demand or emergency callouts.
- Telephone emergency support after hours via engineer emergency line (Friday AM – Friday AM inclusive of weekend callout).
- Continuous development of own skills on all Ravenwood supplied equipment.
- Rebuild and new machine manufacture at Bury St Edmunds.
- Trials, machine development and product supervision.
- Ensuring profitability of completed works.
- Checking installation information to ensure correct service is provided.
- Keyline design and support to customers and label suppliers.
- Attendance at trade shows, sales calls and support to office staff.
- Provide supervisory and technical support to colleagues and communicate effectively with staff at all levels.
- Ensure Ravenwood guidelines and standards of work are understood and met.
- Refer follow-up work requirements to appropriate staff to enable necessary action and recommendations to clients.
- Complete all necessary company documentation punctually (time sheets, staff expense claims, site reports, etc.).
- Attend all training courses and meetings as required and oversee development of colleagues.
- Support management and colleagues and contribute to the overall success of the company.
- Observe company health and safety guidelines and contribute to a safe working environment.
